A 39-year-old man arrested on the NSW Central Coast has been charged with more than 100 offences following the alleged discovery of 2.5 million files documenting sexual and physical abuse. Police seized 120 electronic devices from a home in Tumbi Umbi during an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident in December 2025. The charges include 109 counts of recording intimate images without consent, 57 counts of accessory to sexual intercourse without consent, and multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault. Three women aged between 29 and 31 were allegedly abused and filmed over a seven-year period. The man is due to face court on Tuesday.

Girls from Camas High School in Washington walked off a cross country race on 13 October in protest of a male athlete competing in the girls' event. Matthew Stone Sr, 45, opened fire on his family's home in Erie, Pennsylvania on Friday, killing nine people across three generations before taking his own life. Those killed included his wife Michelle, 44, sons Jonathan, 19, and Matthew Jr, 21, pregnant daughter Angelina, 24, her two young children Isaiah, five, and Amari'anna, nearly two, her unborn son Kyrie, Michelle's sister Lora Roberts, 37, and family friend Twila Tanner, 51. Roberts and Tanner died attempting to protect the children. The coroner ruled Stone's death a suicide; all other deaths were homicides. Police have not announced a motive and investigations continue.

RJ Mitte, who rose to fame playing Walter White Jr on the Emmy-winning series Breaking Bad, has died aged 34 by suicide at his home in Brownsville, Texas on Monday, October 12. Mitte, who had cerebral palsy like his character, was also a prominent disability rights advocate who served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children's, and founded The Mitte Foundation. His Breaking Bad co-stars paid emotional tributes, with Bryan Cranston writing that he was in 'deep despair' and revealed they had been texting recently and planning to meet for lunch. Other co-stars including Aaron Paul and Giancarlo Esposito also expressed their grief.

Cumberland Council agreed on 30 September to loan the University of Cumbria £12.5m and provide land on English Street for a new campus in Carlisle. Minnehaha County Sheriff's Deputy Katherine Frank, 26, died Monday, three days after being shot during a call in southwest Sioux Falls on Friday evening. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Brandon John Oetken of Sioux Falls, was also shot in the incident.
