West Ham sack Nuno after poor start to Championship season
West Ham have sacked head coach Nuno Espirito Santo after back-to-back defeats left them eighth in the Championship.
West Ham have sacked head coach Nuno Espirito Santo following a disappointing start to the Championship season. The club, which was relegated from the Premier League last season, sits eighth in the table after winning only six of 13 matches. Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion, following a 3-2 loss to Southampton, prompted the decision. Assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva and goalkeeper coach Rui Barbosa have also departed. Mark Noble, Steve Potts and Gerard Prenderville will take temporary charge for Wednesday's trip to Cardiff City. Sky Sports News understands that Scott Parker, a former West Ham player and manager of Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley, is close to being appointed to the role.
