Carrick unbowed by speculation as United host Roma
Michael Carrick says he remains focused on Manchester United's Champions League match against Roma despite nine games without a win.
Michael Carrick has rejected suggestions he is on the brink of losing his job at Manchester United, saying he is looking forward to Tuesday's Champions League match against Roma at Old Trafford. United go into the game without a win in nine matches, their worst run since 1988-89, and sit 21st in the Champions League league phase. Carrick also dismissed concerns about Lisandro Martinez's commitment after the defender was sent off against Chelsea on Saturday, saying things happen in football and mistakes do not reflect commitment. Roma visit Old Trafford unbeaten in Serie A this season.
