Apple's 2026 iPad Mini gets major upgrades but carries higher price
Apple has substantially updated its iPad Mini with an OLED display, thinner design and new processor, though reviewers question whether the higher price justifies the improvements.
Apple has released a substantially redesigned eighth-generation iPad Mini with major upgrades across nearly every component. The device features a new 8.5-inch OLED display, a thinner and lighter chassis, the new A20 Pro processor, IP67 waterproofing, and nano-texture glass options to reduce glare. Reviewers who tested the tablet for about a week praised the improvements, with one calling it 'the best iPad Mini yet' and another saying 'I love this little tablet'. However, all noted that these enhancements come with a significantly higher price tag. One tested model cost $1,249, and reviewers questioned whether the improvements justify the cost increase and clarify the iPad Mini's place in Apple's tablet lineup.
