The vessel travelled to a Malaysian offshore anchorage, where UANI recorded it receiving fuel and services before continuing to China. Rhode Island police shot and killed Brendan Norris, 27, during a shootout aboard a stolen sailboat in Newport Harbor on 26 August. Norris had allegedly stolen the Pathfinder, a 1968 Hinkley Bermuda 40, from Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City, New Jersey, and sailed it to Rhode Island. When officers boarded the vessel, Norris fired at least one shot, hitting one officer in the leg and face with shrapnel. Police returned fire for 19 seconds, fatally shooting Norris in the head. Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is closing the car park at Tiddesley Wood from 3pm on Thursday, November 5 to 9am on Monday, November 9 to protect wildlife from fireworks. The trust says fireworks cause significant distress to animals, leaving them scared and disorientated, and create litter and pollution. Last year the trust spent considerable time clearing discarded fireworks from the site, and it has also seen an increase in anti-social behaviour this year.

Richard Skilton, 66, a former Royal Navy sailor and father-of-five from Gosport, died when his black and white Triumph motorcycle was involved in a collision on the M27 eastbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 12 on 16 October. Emergency services attended at 6.39am and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family described him as a devoted husband and proud grandfather of ten, with an eleventh grandchild on the way he will not meet. Police continue to appeal for information about the collision.

The QEII Bridge at Dartford Crossing was closed this morning after Essex Police responded to concerns for the welfare of a man. The bridge reopened after the man was found to be safe. Robert Jenrick, Reform's Treasury spokesman, clashed with political journalist Fraser Nelson on Sky News over Poundland's financial health as the discount chain faces potential collapse, putting 12,000 jobs at risk.
